Ozo store opens as a suburban store

Genroku Shoji Co., Ltd. (capital: 10 million yen) was established in Ozocho, Utsunomiya City.

We leased eight stores owned by MAWARUGENROKU Limited (which was reorganized as a joint-stock company on March 14, 1989 and subsequently merged with our company as the surviving company) and began operating our own stores.

Concluded an agreement with Genroku Co., Ltd. (now G.taste Co., Ltd.) regarding the use of the Genroku Sushi trademark.

Company name changed to Genroku Co., Ltd.

New head office building established in Ozo

The head office was moved to Odori in Utsunomiya City. The contract with Genroku Co., Ltd. regarding the use of the Genroku Sushi trademark was terminated.

Changed company name to GENKI SUSHI Co., Ltd. and began business under the new trademark "GENKI SUSHI."

Registered as an over-the-counter stock with the Japan Securities Dealers Association

Established wholly owned subsidiary GENKI SUSHI HAWAII, INC. (now GENKI SUSHI USA, INC.)

Concluded a franchise agreement with GENKI SUSHI SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. for the Asia-Oceania region (terminated in May 2008 due to expiration of the contract period).

Entered into a franchise agreement with KATANA FOODS PTY LTD. to open GENKI SUSHI restaurants.
