With the aim of further expanding our overseas business, we have decided to acquire Food Odyssey Pty. Ltd., which operates approximately 180 "Sushi Sushi" restaurants in Australia, as a subsidiary.
This transaction is part of an effort to position the ever-growing overseas Japanese food and sushi market as the core of a medium- to long-term growth strategy, with an eye on the maturation of the domestic market. Going forward, the company's long-term goal is to become one of the world's leading Japanese sushi brands in terms of store numbers, and to become one of the world's leading QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brands.
